WRJ's Annual Report

We hope you enjoy this annual report, which provides a snapshot of all that WRJ has accomplished over the past few years and our dreams for the future. Explore our three pillars of sisterhood, spirituality, and social justice and how they empower our leaders and communities in North America and worldwide.

A Conversation with Rabbi Miri Gold

Rabbi Gold was the central complainant in a seven-year court battle led by the Israel Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism. In 2012, she won the right to become the first non-Orthodox regional rabbi to draw a salary from the government. Rabbi Gold will share her story on June 6th.

Film, Fiction, and Fine Wine - Author Event

We are thrilled to have Martha Hall Kelly join us on June 8th to discuss her new book, "The Golden Doves." Inspired by true events, this book is about two former female spies, bound together by their past, who risk everything to hunt down an infamous Nazi doctor in the aftermath of World War II.

Pay Equity Webinar

Join WRJ on June 14th for a conversation about understanding your own value and self-worth at work and advocating for pay equity and paid family and medical leave policies. Rabbi Mary Zamore, Executive Director of the Women’s Rabbinic Network, will host a fireside chat with Dr. Amy Beacom, Ed.D., founder and CEO of the Center for Parental Leave Leadership.

Leading with the principle of Tikkun Olam, WRJ mobilizes collective action for various causes to create a more just and compassionate world for people of all backgrounds and identities. From abortion access to sexual harassment and assault to pay equity and racial justice, WRJ empowers women to use their voices and cultivate the next generation of Reform Jewish leaders through education, advocacy, and action.

What's New

Parashat B'haalot'cha

June 9, 2023
I was eight, sitting in my Hebrew class on a hot Tuesday afternoon after school. Cantor Wagner entered the room, sat down on the teacher’s desk, and took off his watch. He held it up and looked at each of us. The watch looked expensive to me.

It's Not Just About Rainbows

June 9, 2023
For our family, June and LGBTQ+ Pride month are more than wearing rainbows and posting on social media. As an ally and proud parent of a transgender daughter, it is about making sure our child is proud of who she is, feels beautiful inside and out, and remembers Jewish values in her daily life – not just in June, but year-round.

Connecting with Women from Around the World

June 2, 2023
In a classroom in Jerusalem, 15 remarkable women came together. They had traveled from around the world: from Australia, Argentina, Poland, Hungary, the UK, and Israel. Joined by four WRJ leaders from North America, and our educator from Israel, this was the WRJ Wilkenfeld International Women’s Leadership Seminar 2023.
