Hannah Bloomberg is a fifth-year rabbinical student at HUC-JIR’s Los Angeles campus. Her expected ordination date is spring 2025. At HUC-JIR she has also earned her Master of Arts in Hebrew Letters and a Certificate in Jewish Organizational Leadership in 2023. Hannah grew up in Cleveland, OH, and received her undergraduate degree in psychology and neuroscience from the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. Following graduation, Hannah moved to Rishon Lezion in Israel where she volunteered as a Masa Israel Teaching Fellow and was selected for the Birthright Israel Fellowship. She later moved to Chicago, IL where she worked for Metro Chicago Hillel and led several trips with Taglit-Birthright Israel and a trip with the Maccabee Task Force to explore perspectives on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. During her time at HUC-JIR she has served at student rabbi for Temple Or Hadash in Fort Collins, CO, as a chaplain intern at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN, and as the rabbinic intern for Temple Akiba in Culver City, CA. She is currently serving as rabbinic intern at Honeymoon Israel, based in Atlanta, GA.
