Mayan Caplan is a writer and aspiring physician who recently graduated Mount Holyoke College. She’s currently taking a gap year, during which she is seeking representation for her debut novel, applying to medical schools, working as a medical scribe in a family medicine clinic, and volunteering as a para-chaplain. She believes in healing through story—both by using her writing to reflect and refract truth and by practicing narrative medicine to build deep connections with patients. In high school, she served on the jGirls+ Magazine Editorial Board and headed the Fiction Department. jGirls+ is a program of Moving Traditions and a WRJ YES Fund grantee.
