This spring, WRJ is excited to announce our Mother’s Day campaign, “L’dor V’dor: From Generation to Generation,” celebrating our women by sharing their family stories. Our women embody tikkun olam, from being inspired at a young age by their mothers, to encouraging their children to forge their own Jewish identities, to having the opportunity to share their experiences with grandchildren.

 

Your dedication to WRJ goes beyond your family and touches women, youth and people world-wide. Join us in honoring women and their families as they pass down these sacred Jewish values from generation to generation. I am a proud past Sisterhood President and past WRJ North American Board member. In my sisterhood, I try at least once a year to show one of the YES fund videos and ask people to raise their hand if any of the areas mentioned have touched them or a family member.

My mother of blessed memory, Ruth Novak, grew up in a secular household. When my grandparents attended shul, they went to the local Orthodox congregation. Being female, Mom was not offered a formal religious education or encouraged to attend services.
