“The virtual FWC was a huge success. I enjoyed seeing everyone. I loved the workshops. This was WRJ at her finest!”   Lisa Singer, Akron, OH

What is the Fried Women's Conference?

Made possible in part by a generous gift from WRJ Board member Joanne B. Fried, Fried Women’s Conference (FWC) is WRJ’s flagship event. It is a multi-day experience to hone leadership skills, further Jewish learning, partake in women-led worship and music, and deepen connections with other sisterhoods, women, and WRJ at large.

What will this year's conference look like?

Like last year, WRJ understands there are ongoing concerns about in-person gatherings due to COVID-19. The health, safety, and well-being of all attendees is our highest priority. Therefore, we will run the entire Fried Women’s Conference (FWC) 2021 virtually. While we are disappointed that we cannot gather in person, we look forward to a successful and robust virtual conference experience in March 2021. With even more engagement, learning, and ways to connect, this online conference experience will allow women from all over the world to enjoy it all from the safety of their own homes. We hope to “see” you there!

Who should attend?

FWC is for all women interested in WRJ and the Reform Jewish Movement, including new WRJ members, sisterhood leaders, WRJ Board members, and Board alumnae. There is something for everyone at FWC! It is the perfect opportunity to enhance your personal growth, broaden your Jewish knowledge and spiritual horizons, learn about WRJ, connect (or reconnect) with Reform Jewish women and the organization, and gain or fine-tune skills that strengthen sisterhoods.

What can we expect?

Attendees will participate in workshops, create connections and network with other Reform women, experience meaningful Shabbat worship and music, learn from experts and each other, and enjoy time with WRJ leaders and friends. FWC attendees will leave feeling rejuvenated and, with the support of their WRJ sisters, better prepared to guide their sisterhoods and serve as leaders in both Jewish and secular communities.

“WRJ has given me the tools to become a leader that I never envisioned for myself. It has provided me with a family of sisters for support and knowledge.” – Sherry Schwimmer, Charleston, SC
