There are customs, biblical references, and programs related to each of the Jewish holidays that are based on the Jewish calendar (which is mostly lunar with some solar adjustments) and occur throughout the year.
As our Centennial Salute to the WRJ Cookbook Collection in 2013, we highlighted recipes of foods served on several Jewish holidays as a way to “sample” dishes from the more than 260 WRJ cookbooks at the HUC-JIR Library in Cincinnati, OH.
WRJ was and continues to be an advocate for equal rights for women in Jewish learning and worship, bringing a unique, feminist perspective to Reform Jewish study and providing resources from which to learn and pray.
