WRJ Social Justice Conference 2019

What to Expect

Join hundreds of Reform Jewish women from sisterhoods in North America and beyond, individual members from around the world, and other women interested in advocacy as we gather in Washington, D.C. to learn, grow, take action, and demonstrate that we are stronger together.

At SJC, you will get to choose from more than 18 unique workshops and sessions for women of all experience levels to gain knowledge about social justice topics and build and sharpen their advocacy training and skills. The following are just some examples (see the Schedule page for more):

  • Democratic deliberation & civil civic conversations

  • Pending Supreme Court cases and their impending impact
  • Reproductive rights
  • Pay equity
  • Gun violence prevention

At SJC, you will be moved when you experience the powerful prayer of hundreds of women worshipping together on Shabbat. Featuring music from Stacy Beyer, our worship services will lift you spiritually as you witness the magic of women praying and singing as one in services created just for SJC 2019. For those seeking an extra connection, choose from one of several Torah Study options on Saturday morning.

At SJC, you will be energized and feel good as we rock out at a Saturday night concert with spectacular, socially-minded female musicians in support of WRJ’s important work. Get ready to sing along with social justice songs from the Together As One CD and familiar favorites at a Saturday night show that will cap off an exciting day one.

At SJC, you will hear from and meet with leaders from the Reform Movement and the social justice sphere. We will be inspired by speakers such as Rabbi David Saperstein, Director Emeritus of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism (RAC), and more to come!

SJC will give you the tools you need to become an empowered advocate. Learn. Pray. Connect. Grow. Take Action. Register for SJC today
