What to Expect

Join hundreds of Reform Jewish women from throughout North America as we gather in Washington, D.C. to learn, grow, take action, and demonstrate that we are stronger together.

At SJC, you will get to choose from more than 20 unique workshops and sessions for advocates of all experience levels – including those just starting on their social justice journey – to gain knowledge about timely topics and build and sharpen their advocacy training and skills. The following are some potential workshop topics/examples; stay tuned for more details to come!

  • Workshops to teach crucial, foundational advocacy skills to those new to social justice work or seeking a refresher
  • Sessions on WRJ’s and the Reform Movement’s priority issues (e.g., reproductive health & rights, pay equity, violence against women, climate change, Israel)
  • Skills to bring back to your own sisterhoods, women’s groups, or other communities

At SJC, you will receive training and preparation for Hill visits by our Movement’s experts – the staff of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism (RAC). Senior staff and legislative assistants from the RAC will conduct training, both in advance of SJC over Zoom and onsite, to prepare everyone – regardless of whether you have lobbied before or not – to feel comfortable and capable of visiting their elected officials on The Hill on Monday. For those wanting some extra preparation – don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! You will be paired up with prior WRJ attendees/lobbyists who can show you the ropes and give you the insider knowledge that will help you put your best foot forward.

At SJC, you will be moved when you experience the powerful prayer of hundreds of women worshipping together on Shabbat. Kicking off an impactful weekend together, our worship services will lift you spiritually as you witness the magic of women praying and singing as one in services created just for SJC 2025, and accompanied by the ever-popular WRJ Choir. For those seeking an extra connection, choose from one of several Torah Study options on Saturday morning.

At SJC, you will be energized and empowered as we celebrate with WRJ’s 2025 Women’s Empowerment Awardees in Sunday evening. We will honor individuals doing meaningful, inspirational work in their own communities and beyond, and recognize their contributions to tikkun olam. The gala dinner – included for all SJC attendees – will feature special guest speakers and performers. More details TBA!

SJC will give you the tools you need to become an empowered advocate. Learn. Pray. Connect. Grow. Take Action.
