WRJ strengthens the voice of women worldwide and empowers them to create caring communities, nurture congregations, cultivate personal and spiritual growth, and advocate for and promote progressive Jewish values.
WRJ has an illustrious and extensive history being at the forefront of social action and change, advancing the role of women in Jewish life, and supporting the growth of Reform institutions around the world.
An affiliate of the URJ and an integral part of the Reform Movement, WRJ is the organizational umbrella for hundreds of affiliated sisterhoods with tens of thousands of members around the globe.
Since 1913, the WRJ leaders, which includes the WRJ Board of Directors, have carved out a place for women in Reform Jewish life, beginning at a time when women could not serve as rabbis or on congregational boards.
The WRJ Staff, located primarily in the New York City office, provide professional support to the WRJ Board of Directors, WRJ Districts and WRJ-affiliated Sisterhoods and oversee a variety of projects to ensure the organization's success.
