Operations Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Staff/Office Supervision

  • Responsible for day to day operations of the organization, such as coordination of administrative support, oversight of daily batch reports and processes, management of data systems, office equipment, and supplies
  • Supervision and evaluation of Administrative staff members (Direct Report)
  • HR Liaison, including oversight of staff vacation and sick days, onboarding new staff members, and facilitating staff gatherings

Board Management

  • Primary responsibility for Board management including:
    • Maintenance of all lists, databases, minutes, and attendance records
    • Responsibility for all board meetings and webinars
    • Oversight of board communications (with Manager of M & C) and transitions
  • Staff liaison for Board Nominating Committees and Board alumni (Chai Society)
  • Facilitate annual NGO paperwork and support for WRJ UN representatives

Events, Conferences, and Legislative Body Gatherings

  • Assist Manager of Meetings and Conventions with schedule, printing materials, credentials, shipping and other logistical support
  • Assist Manager of Affiliate Services in overseeing delegate credentials for legislative body meetings

Special Projects

  • Coordination of Cookbook Collection at HUC-JIR Library
  • Facilitate special committees, strategic plans, consultants, etc. as needed

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years progressive experience in nonprofit management, including administration, volunteer management, and some fundraising
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Strong computer proficiency, including the Microsoft Office Suite and database software; fundraising software knowledge a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of social networking helpful
  • Strong project and relationship management experience
  • Experience with volunteer and committee management
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks with rigorous attention to detail
  • Must be able to work effectively under pressure, take direction as well as take initiative when required
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • BA degree (MA or certification preferred)
