WRJ Women’s Empowerment Awards 
Nominate an Honoreee

The 2025 WRJ Women’s Empowerment Awards celebrate those who exemplify WRJ’s core values of social justice. These awards honor leaders who have made significant contributions to advancing gender equity, reproductive health and rights, pluralism in Israel, and democracy around the world, inspiring transformative social change. By recognizing individuals who have dedicated themselves to building a more just, inclusive, and compassionate world, we spotlight the profound impact of grassroots organizing and leadership in the Jewish community and beyond.

The awards will be presented at WRJ’s Women’s Empowerment Awards Dinner, taking place on Sunday, April 6, 2025, as part of the Rabbi Marla J. Feldman Social Justice Conference in Washington, D.C. 

As part of this inspirational program, we will present WRJ’s Jane Evans Award, established in honor of WRJ’s first full-time executive director and given to someone who embodies the same level of dedication to justice as Jane did in her life. 

The awards dinner is included in registration for all conference attendees, and sponsorship packages will be available for those who wish to contribute to this important fundraiser. We hope you will join us to honor these incredible individuals and to support WRJ’s mission of sisterhood, spirituality, and social justice.

Nomination Criteria:
To be nominated for this prestigious award, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Identify as female, non-binary, or genderfluid. We understand "woman" or "women" to include all of these individuals.
  • Identify as Jewish, be committed to the Jewish people, OR be involved in the Reform Movement.
  • Be a changemaker and advocate for social justice.
  • Show dedication to the advancement of women and girls.
  • Be able to attend and accept the award in person at the awards dinner on April 6, 2025, in Washington, D.C.
  • Be willing to participate in an interview and recording prior to the event.
     

Nomination Process:

  • Nomination applications will open on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until Monday, December 9, 2024.
  • A committee will carefully review all submissions. Self-nominations are welcomed, and nominators must notify nominees before submitting the application.
  • Nominees will be informed about their selection by Tuesday, January 14, 2025.

 

**Although we are unable to recognize every nominee due to the limited number of awards, each nomination reflects the remarkable leadership and work being done. We deeply appreciate your efforts in highlighting these extraordinary individuals.

Tribute Journal

The Women’s Empowerment Awards Tribute Journal will be shown throughout the evening of Sunday, April 6th. It will also be available on our website after the event and shared with all honorees. 

Our Trailblazer, Innovator, and Advocate levels are premier ads designed to stand out with enhanced design elements and with special recognition of your deep commitment to shaping a more inclusive and equitable future. Note: The purchase of a journal ad does not include an event ticket.

In accordance with IRS regulations, sponsorships and tribute ads are fully tax-deductible within the limits prescribed by U.S. law. Any excess funds not expended for the event will go directly to WRJ to support WRJ’s current and future programming. All donors and sponsors with a contribution of $500 and above will be acknowledged at the event and other appropriate venues.
