Karen Sim is the WRJ First Vice President. She is a member of Isaac Mayer Wise Temple in Cincinnati, Ohio. Karen became a member of the WRJ Board in 2003. She has served on the Executive Committee, as Vice President of Districts and Member Services, and as Vice President of Development. She has served on many committees and task forces including Strategic Planning, Affiliate Development, YES Fund Grant Allocation, the WRJ Centennial committee, the Budget Committee, Alumni Development, Individual Membership Development, and Speaker Training. She also serves on the Executive Committee of the WRJ Central District Board.

In addition to her work with WRJ, Karen is a Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) Board member. She also serves on the Board of Overseers for the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) Central Region.

Karen is married with two adult children. She enjoys the support of her husband and her children for her volunteerism in the Jewish community.

Lillian Burkenheim Silver is the WRJ Vice President of Philanthropy. She grew up in NFTY, engaged in the Reform Movement and pursing tzedek/justice. This laid the groundwork for a passion to empower people to learn, to thrive, and to act.

While attending the UCSB/UCLA, Lillian worked for Camp Fire Girls and the Voluntary Action Center. She earned a BA, MA, and an MS in Non-Profit Management.

Lillian spent her career working in underserved neighborhoods, empowering people to create and implement a vision for their community.

Lillian was honored to receive the WRJ 2019 Women’s Empowerment Award. She is Past President of the Women of Temple Beth Hillel in Valley Village, California, and Past Temple President. She has served as WRJ Pacific District Convention co-chair and currently is the Pacific District Secretary. As a WRJ North American Board member, Lillian has had the opportunity to serve on social justice, training, and marketing projects, and experience an amazing Mission to Israel with her girls Chava and Renee.

Shoshana Dweck is WRJ Vice President of Advocacy. A recovering lawyer and engineer, she served as sisterhood president of Temple Shaaray Tefila in Bedford Corners, New York, and on the WRJ then-District 3 Board. Shoshana is completing her term as Chair of the New York Says Thank You Foundation. Long part of the Israel/Zionism leadership of the Reform Movement, Shoshana was Vice President of ARZA and is now a member of the ARZENU Board and the Israel Reform Zionism Committee. Shoshana represents our Movement on the JNF Zionist Advisory Board of Governors and within the AZM. A past Federation President and Interim Executive, Shoshana was Vice-Chair of United Israel Appeal, serves on the Jewish Agency for Israel North America Advisory Council, and is a member of the ADL-CT Board and the Georgia Tech Parents Board. Shoshana is the proud mom of James, Joshua, and Gabriel, two cats, and two grand-kitties.

Jane Taves is the WRJ Vice President of Engagement. She is an active member of Temple Beth El in Madison, Wisconsin, where she serves on the sisterhood Executive Board and the congregation’s Executive Committee.

Jane has been a member of the WRJ North American Board since 2013. She also serves as a trustee on the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) North American Board and is a member of the World Union for Progressive Judaism (WUPJ) Executive Board. She has a passion for WRJ, the Reform Movement, and Global Jewry.

Jane is retired from a career in healthcare software at Epic Systems, where she was one of the founding members. Over the years at Epic, her roles included software development, project implementation, and sales.

Along with her volunteer work, Jane greatly enjoys theater, opera, and worldwide travel. She has one adult daughter and one grand dog.

Judy Wexler serves as Vice President of Member Services. She also currently serves as WRJ Midwest District Vice President of Social Justice and is a past sisterhood president. Judy has been a member of the North American Board of WRJ since 2015. During that time, she co-chaired the 2019 WRJ Social Justice Conference, as well as the 2021 WRJ Resolutions Committee.

Judy is a past synagogue president of North Shore Congregation Israel in Glencoe, Illinois where she has been a member for over 20 years, along with her husband Bruce Menkes and her two adult daughters, Lena and Margo.

Judy is a former practicing attorney, and she currently teaches middle school Language Arts.

Susan Singer is the WRJ Treasurer and has been on the WRJ Board since 2018. She serves on the Budget Committee, Finance Committee, and Investment Committee. Susan served as Treasurer and West Michigan Area Director for the WRJ Central District and currently holds the position of District Co-Lead Area Director. She has been an active member of her congregation, Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan, for over 25 years and is a Sisterhood Past President.

Susan was a successful accountant for 30 years, working in both the public and private industry. Now retired, she is enjoying her best “second half,” helping people reach their health goals, and committing herself to volunteer opportunities promoting progressive Jewish values and advocacy.

Susan and her husband David currently reside in White Lake, Michigan, where they enjoy life with their daughter Rachel and their dogs Baxter and Sasha Fierce.

Karen Goldberg is the WRJ Secretary. She is a past president of Women of Isaiah in Lafayette, California, where she remains active on the leadership team. She has been a member of the WRJ North American Board since 2015, serving as co-chair of WRJ's inaugural Social Justice Conference in 2019 and co-chair of the 2021 Resolutions Committee. She is the Pacific District Vice President of Action & Advocacy and member of her synagogue's Values In Action team.

Karen is passionate about Torah and about Israel. She is a member of the URJ's Israel Leadership Network. She created and continues to curate WRJ's "Sharing Our Stories" project, connecting Reform Jewish women around the world.

Born and raised in California, Karen currently lives in Walnut Creek with her husband and two very active dogs. She has two daughters of whom she is very proud. In her free time, she enjoys baking, hiking, and all forms of arts and crafts.

Susan C. Bass is the immediate past President of WRJ. An Atlanta native, she currently lives in Houston. Through every phase of her life, Susan has been affiliated with institutions of the Reform Jewish Movement. Beginning with her Temple Youth Group, involvement with The Temple in Atlanta in many capacities, Board service with the Union for Reform Judaism and Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ), she has demonstrated a commitment to the values of progressive Judaism in every arena. Susan served as an officer in almost every organization, including the President of WRJ, encouraging others to recruit and mentor rising leaders, many of whom are in leadership positions today. Passing the torch of leadership to those who will follow has always been her passion. In Houston, Susan is a member of Congregation Beth Israel, where she is active in the congregation, the sisterhood, and sings in the volunteer choir.

Jenn Daley is a Member At Large of Women of Reform Judaism’s Executive Committee and a member of the North American Board. She currently serves as the Marketing and Communications Chair.

Jenn is the Immediate Past President of WRJ’s Southwest District. Since moving to New Orleans, Louisiana, in 2014, she has been an active member and past president of Congregation Gates of Prayer Sisterhood. For WRJ Southwest District, Jenn served as an Area Director, Senior Area Director, and First Vice President. Professionally, she is the Director of Grants, Marketing & Communications for the Jewish Endowment Foundation of Louisiana. Jenn and her husband Ken have two children, Eileen and Jacob, and a puppy, Exene.

Andrea Gingold was elected to the WRJ North American Board in 2015 and is now serving her second term as a Member At Large of the Executive Committee. Andrea is the current Budget Committee Chair, recently chaired the YES Fund Grant Allocations Committee and before that the Allocations Task Force. She also co-chaired the 2020 (virtual) Fried Women’s Conference. She has been a member of the Investment Committee.

Andrea is a past president and current board member of the WLC/Sisterhood of Temple Israel of the City of New York. Professionally, Andrea is a fundraiser at UJA Federation-NY. Prior to her career in fundraising, she had an extensive career in advertising sales and marketing in the media industry. She lives in Manhattan, NYC with her husband, David, and they have adult twin sons. When we are able, Andrea enjoys travel, theatre, and food adventures.

Shelley Niceley Groff is a WRJ Executive Committee member. She also serves as a Vice-Chair of the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ), and as URJ Lay Leader for Youth. In that role, she works with the URJ Youth Team on all aspects of youth engagement, including camp, NFTY, and Israel experiences. Shelley is a Vice-Chair of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, which is the national hub of the Jewish community relations network, and a board member of Foundation for Jewish Camp. In her hometown of Miami, Florida, Shelley is an active executive committee member of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, a past chair of Jewish Community Services of South Florida, and a past president of Temple Beth Sholom. Committed to interfaith work, Shelley is a founding co-leader of the Miami chapter of Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom and a member of the Miami Muslim Jewish Advisory Council. She and her husband Jon are the proud parents of Aaron (Amanda) and Emily, and the proud grandparents of Ari Julian. Shelley is a member of the congregations and sisterhoods of both Temple Beth Sholom and Temple Israel of Greater Miami.

Dr. Madelyn Katz is a Member At Large of the WRJ Executive Committee. As a “child” of the Reform Movement, Madelyn has spent her entire life involved in the Reform Movement. She chose a career in Jewish education to shape the lives of Reform Jewish children as so many others had done for her. As a Reform Jewish Educator, she has done extensive work in the field of leadership, working with Reform Jewish youth, camp staff, and Counselors-in-Training at URJ summer camps, rabbinic students preparing for their rabbinate, and synagogue boards in shaping their leadership. One of the most significant highlights of her career was when she facilitated the development and implementation of the first WRJ Wilkenfeld International Women's Leadership Seminar in London in 2016. Along with the WRJ leadership, she led twenty women from fifteen progressive Jewish communities throughout the world in a two-day seminar that highlighted personal reflection as Reform Jewish women, community-building, and developing action plans for their communities. Madelyn credits this as the springboard for her ongoing commitment to and involvement in WRJ.

Michelle Scheinkopf is a Member At Large of the Executive Committee of the North American Board of Women of Reform Judaism. She is a past co-president of Women of North Shore Congregation Israel (WNSCI) in Glencoe, Illinois, and is the Immediate Past President of WRJ Midwest District. She has served on both the WNSCI and Midwest District Executive Committees in several positions. She joined the WRJ North American Board of Directors in 2013 and chaired the WRJ College Outreach Committee.

Michelle is a retired high school health education teacher and still loves to teach. She is a frequent presenter at sisterhoods and women’s groups as well as WRJ events.

Michelle is married to Jeff Scheinkopf and they are the proud parents of Elizabeth (Lizzy) and Bryan. Hera, a sweet rescued chihuahua, recently joined the family and somehow is now taking up all of Michelle’s time!

Andrea Stillman is a Member At Large on the WRJ Executive Committee. She has served on the WRJ Board since 2018, participating on multiple committees including Budget, Resolutions, and serving as one of the WRJ representatives to the Commission of Social Action. She also currently serves as First Vice President for the Mid-Atlantic District.

A proud two-term, past president of Women of Temple Rodef Shalom in Falls Church, Virginia, Andrea continues to serve on their Board as Advocacy Chair and is part of their Judaica Gift Shop management team. Andrea has been active on the Temple Rodef Shalom Board for more than 10 years, currently leading their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force. She is active in her local chapter of the Sisterhood of Salaam/Shalom, on the National Council of Jewish Women Virginia Action Team, and other grassroots advocacy organizations.

In her leisure time, Andrea enjoys taking advantage of all the cultural offerings living right outside of Washington, D.C. has to offer, exploring different cultures through food and travel, and spending time with her son, daughter, their spouses, her two energetic grandsons, and grand puppy.

Julia Wackenheim is a Member At Large of the WRJ Executive Committee.

Born in Reno, Nevada and raised in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Julia received her BFA in Acting from Emerson College in Boston.

Julia can be seen (pre-pandemic) in live shows in Los Angeles, on TV (Red Band Society, MOCKpocalypse, FlashForward, Jimmy Kimmel Live!), and in commercials (Walmart, Applebee’s, Cars.com, eBay, Honda, to name a few). She is the executive producer and actor of the web series "F'd." She’s also a screenwriter.

Julia is the co-founder of CAG: FBLA ( Caring Across Generations: Faith-Based Los Angeles Alliance). Through CAG: FBLA, Julia helps organize workshops, raise awareness on domestic workers' rights, and networks with other organizations to help problem-solve our aging crisis and spread the word about caregiving. Julia co-chaired WRJ’s 2021 Fried Women’s Conference (FWC), is an active member of Bend the Arc, and is the Social Action Chair for the Women of Temple Beth Hillel in Valley Village, California.

Julia currently resides in Studio City, California with her husband, son, three dogs, and cat.
