Women of Reform Judaism is pleased to offer an intensive education experience beginning the Monday prior to the start of Connections. It is designed to enhance your leadership journey and WUPJ experience.
The seminar will be led by educator, Sally Klein-Katz, an outstanding Jerusalem-based facilitator.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
This seminar is open to all women who register for Connections from outside of North America who have not previously participated in a WRJ Wilkenfeld Leadership Seminar
We are seeking Reform/Progressive Jewish women from around the world who are interested in:
- Developing successful strategies for making a difference
- Learning the power of “Why” and the importance of “How”
- Taking on leadership roles in their home communities
- Meeting Reform/Progressive Jewish women from near and far
The program will be limited to 18 participants.
A minimum of 12 participants is needed to run the program.
We will let you know when the program is guaranteed to run, no later than the end of January. Please do not book your flights until you receive this confirmation.
WHEN AND WHERE WILL THIS TAKE PLACE?
The seminar will begin on Monday afternoon, May 1 at 2 pm and conclude mid-day on Wednesday, May 3, at 1:30 pm, after lunch, in time for you to join all the Connections activities.
The program will take place at Beit Shmuel in Jerusalem, the international headquarters of the World Union for Progressive Judaism.
WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?
Each participant will be expected to develop and work on a local project to take back to her community. This can be a new initiative or one that is already in progress. The preparation for this project will begin before the seminar, with a definition of your project and its goals. You will work with our educator, Sally Klein-Katz, over email and will attend one Zoom session with Sally to assist in refining your project plans before the seminar.
We expect you to attend all sessions beginning Monday afternoon and ending on Wednesday mid-day.
The seminar will be conducted in English. Fluency in written and spoken English is needed.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT AS A PARTICIPANT?
As a participant, you will grow your leadership skills and create a network of progressive Jewish women like yourself. Participants will stay at the Mamilla Hotel. This luxury hotel is conveniently located very close to Beit Shmuel where we will be holding the Wilkenfeld Seminar. Rooms will be double-occupancy (with other Wilkenfeld participants) and will be comped for Monday and Tuesday, May 1-2, checking out May 3. We will also comp your room for Sunday night, April 30th if you need to travel in the day prior to the Wilkenfeld Seminar. Participants will need to make their own arrangements for their overnight stays during the WUPJ Connections Conference beginning on Wednesday, May 3.
More About The Connections Conference Costs:
The Wilkenfeld Seminar will not cover the cost of the hotel during the Connections Conference. WRJ, however, will partially cover the Connections registration costs for participants in the Wilkenfeld Seminar, reducing the registration cost to $360.
