Reform Jewish Women Condemn Supreme Court Decision in United States v. Skrmetti

In response to the U.S. Supreme Court ruling upholding a ban on gender-affirming care for minors and ruling that this ban does not violate the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, Women of Reform Judaism released the following statement:

“Women of Reform Judaism condemns this decision denying transgender individuals gender-affirming care and equal protection under the law. Dating back to 2003, WRJ was the first organization within the Reform Movement to advocate for the full rights of transgender individuals within and beyond our community. We will continue our advocacy in the states and will fight until all people are granted the trust, respect, and privacy to make medical decisions, free from government interference."
